Clearly then, the Devils trade BACK Timo Meier to the sharks for the exact same package they gave away, and then Meier extends to an 8 year, $1,050,000 AAV contract with the sharks and you win the cup in 2023-24

Bratt maybe, but I doubt Timo gets more than this. His camp confirmed to be starting around 9M and the devils are confirmed to be starting around 7M. I imagine it lands somewhere in the upper 8s.

Regardless, add 1M total and this team still has 3M+ in cap space
