Ken Holland probably has too much respect for his counterpart in St. Louis to offer that for Parayko.

(sigh)

You guys really need to get over this Parayko derangement syndrome. It's embarrassing. I mean, holy hell, what a garbage return you'd be fine with.

Garbage? I'm positive Ceci would be better compared to Parayko standing and reaching all the time. And is half the price. Puljujarvi is not great I'd admit that. As for Raphael Lavoie, he has been a almost a point per game player in every league he has been in, decent prospect. I consider this deal far from garbage, just getting the cap relief is something for the next 7 years.

What do we want the cap relief for? This guarantees we are god awful for 3years+. There’s no top end D man that’s going to come on the market. Ceci certainly can’t handle the minutes Parayko plays with Leddy as a partner.

I’m not sure why we keep thinking that we can get #4/#5 d men who are flawed in one zone or another and stick them in some of the toughest usage in the league and then blame the one guy who is the only person who can handle the load.

Lavoie and a 2nd isn’t going to do anything to help us. Puljujaarvi was interesting prior to the Kapanen claim, Ceci is ok if we give him mild usage and put him as a number 4/5.

Bouchard is the only way moving Parayko to Edmonton makes sense and then getting rid of a shutdown pair. But even with that we’d need to move Krug as well, which should be priority number one if it’s doable.

Dude, Lavoie can barely skate or make an effort off the puck. He's an AHL Hoffman. Ceci is a #1 now, he can take the hardest shifts? And a 2nd rounder? Yikes.

Blues decline. Trading Parayko makes a huge hole in our defense and that's not enough to blow up our defense. All Parayko needs is another decent D man to take the pressure off of him. He plays top 5 hardest minutes in the NHL with Leddy as his partner. Plus our second pair of Faulk and Krug can't defend so he is the only defensemen we have that can defend
