My guess is that Tatar comes back before Wood does. Unless he is pricing himself out of a return (and Wood pricing himself into cheap territory).

Also, Sharangovich will probably either be a 1-year deal (with one more crack at RFA next summer) or longer-term extension. A 2-year deal would walk him directly to UFA.

I think Haula gets more on the open market, Graves is likely closer to $4.5-5M, based on similar players, and Nemec makes this roster next season. Wood, with his speed and physicality, likely gets a bigger offer somewhere, as well. All of that said, the "is Holtz going to hustle" question is a big one.

Basically, we need to hope the "Swiss committee" can convince Meier to take much less, and that he and Bratt both decide winning is better than the slightly bigger contracts. ($7.5M a piece, fingers crossed).

I think some of the contracts fall short of a "pipe-dream" but certainly are on the "best case scenario" end of the realistic spectrum

I would laugh my ass off if a team was dumb enough to pay miles wood more than 2 mill, let alone more than what he's making now

By signing Graves, Haula, and especially Wood to those deals, you've basically just thrown a bunch of money in the garbage. If you want a UFA LD, target Walman. Otherwise, let Bahl play. He'll be ready.

Use the money to sign a center that's better than Haula and let someone else make the mistake of signing Wood.
