Nyquist would be like Kerfoot on LTIR basically. Obviously they are moving Kerfoot for cap reason, but they might as well go get someone who can help them for sure or picks out of Kerfoot.

nyquist is quite better offensively than kerfoot. kerfoot may be faster, but even then nyquist is still great at killing penalties too if there's such a "utility player" argument

That's fair but there isn't any guarantee that Nyquist comes back in time to help them or if he does return game 1 that he would be of any help. He would be on a new team, playing a new role on the 4th line or something that he's not used to playing perhaps. They might as well just get a 4th liner to replace Kerfoot and get something of value out of him from a team competing.
