Regarding what happens when a player is traded with retained salary and they have a contract extension that hasn't begun yet:The league settled this issue with clubs back in 2013: the retained salary percentage always applies across the current active contract AND the extension

It's such a gamble to trade for Miller, I mean if he plays up to his contract then hell yeah I'm all for it. But this year so far he has not. I don't know....gives me the heebie-jeebies

I stand corrected, the CBA states that they are two different contracts but you cant argue with this
