Don't think schmaltz is gonna cost that much after the chychrun deal, especially with Schmaltz's actual cash owed going up in the next three seasons. I doubt he cost more than a first and a second or third.

There is no reason to spend more young assets to get Nick Scmaltz, does he make them a contender or help them beat Boston if the Isles make the playoff?

Add Schmaltz, and in the case, Kulikov, and a healthy Barzal, they could compete with any team. Do these beat Boston? Unlikely, but that hasn’t stopped any other EC team from buying.
