Krug's cap makes him almost impossible to trade. Do you really want Sanheim for eight years?

Personally I always thought Sanheim would be a great partner for Parayko

Man that cap hit for Krug is just too much….maybe for Marty instead cause it clears his cap ?

Not disagreeing with your thought. Maybe it's just me, but taking on an eight year contract starting on age 27, kinda scares me.

Vegas can't afford to take on Krugs $6,500,000 for the next 4 years or so. They're already basically bottomed out.

I could see something around that as well. Still would provide cap flexibility for the Blues, with his contract ending after a year.

True, but we did sign Krug to a 7 year contract when he was 29. Having 6 of those 8 years at ages 27-33 is the good part. Sanheim stays pretty Healthy. I could see us going after Provorov as well, shorter cap hit, so a little less risk.

Was thinking of something along the same lines as this, too. Move out 2 dman with our draft capital we just got.

I was thinking Provorov instead of Sanheim (having another 8 year pact scares me) for Leddy, a 2nd and Laferrière.

Then, moving Krug and the worst of the 3 first for a defensive dman to play with 55. Pettersson?

You know my take. If we don't move out at least one of those LDs (preferably Leddy) in a relatively painless way and then go sign one of Orlov/Soucy/Graves/Gavrikov as a freebie, it will be a major failure. And I'd much rather re-sign someone like Mikkola short term, or even offer sheet Byram or Miller or even someone like Samberg/Bolduc than go spend a 23 1st to move somebody, especially to take on eight years of Sanheim. Trading a 23 1st just to shed a contract is not my idea of relatively painless. I'd imagine Army agrees.

Trading Leddy, a solid prospect and a 1st for Sanheim could very easily turn this retool into a full on rebuild.

Would rather get someone with shorter term in the event they don’t work out ike the last 2 guys we signed to term to throw into the hardest usage in the league and then not understand why our team is underperforming
