That's a pretty good swing at a roster. Gudas would be good to have alongside Zelwegger, he's having similar success with some of our old players in Florida at the moment. I think I'd rather swing at a Graves than a Dumolin and make Gudas Zelwegger 3rd pairing.

Not sold on JVR for 1LW.

Leo Carlsson might be our guy though, we'll have to see how the draft goes.

If we brought back Rico, I wonder if he would extend here at inexpensive rate. If so, I could see us adding a prospect too.

Who is your ideal guy at 1LW next year? My thought was that he’d put up good numbers with Terry and Zegras and could be flipped at the TDL

The ideal candidate is Timo Meier, but he won't be available. Internal options would include putting McTavish there, hanging onto Comtois and using him there, or riding Rico to the TDL. Strome would be 2C and Lundestrom 3C, whoever at 4C (could be Grant, could call up someone like BOG)

McTavish doesn't NEED to play center with Strome on the roster, but I'm sure will get plenty of time to practice at it with injuries and mid season line shakeups.

What we need is a 2nd line playmaking winger to unlock Stromes scoring potential, and I think Drouin is a target, as Verbeek scouted him for the draft back in Tampa. Small market and not being the star on the team hopefully gets him out of his own head. Mittlestadt from Buffalo would be another if they feel his time is up. Getting one of them, and hanging onto Rico until TDL I think would be the way forward, unless someone had a real nice offer for us in the off-season.

That would also push Vatrano to 3RW with Lundestrom and Jones which I like as a line, Lundestroms being unlocking Jones long dormant scoring potential.

Lastly, I would use Comtois to swap for Logan Stanley out of Winnipeg and bring him in, I think he'd be a better running partner for Drysdale. Then we just need to find a partner for Fowler, for which I like Mayfield.
