Calgary would probably say yes to the deal, knowing the cap hell they're in for the next two years

Would Hanifin, though? He does have that NTC. Personally, I hate that deal for Columbus; I kinda feel like Peeke plus what amounts to two first-round picks (assuming CBJ don't rocket up the standings next year) is an overpay for Hanifin, even as good as he is. And I know Philly isn't trading for Roslovic, not while Torts is the coach there.

I don’t think Hayes is a good fit. We are a younger team and we should only be giving out assets for proven players.

he's been a 50 point #2 center for the better part of the last decade. he's proven. and he won't have a significant asset cost.

He has significant injury issues and has not once made it to 50 points in a season. He is also 30 years old and more likely to regress. The Jackets do not need this type of play on the roster.

ironically enough you can say the exact same thing about boone jenner (career high of 49 points, about to turn 30, has a major back injury)

Jenner is much less money and doesn’t cost us future assets. Not really comparable.
