I know it's a bit of a long shot, but will Tampa even be able to hold on to that third slot in the Atlantic? Just a thought as their slide just might get worse.

If Murray can stay healthy I think he's the starter. He has a better track record of success and at his best has looked much better than Samsonov this season. Kerfoot played on the Matthews-Marner line last season in the playoffs and I thought they played pretty well together. I would also prefer Kefoot's straight-line speed on that line if they're going to be matched up against the Point line. I thought Bunting looked good when he played on O'Reilly's wing last night. Rielly's deployment is also one of the reasons why this team hasn't had playoff success. He's abysmal defensively and if you try to deploy him like a number 1D against other teams' top lines, he'll be exploited defensively. I'm not saying he should necessarily have 3rd pair minutes but his minutes should be sheltered and against other teams' bottom 6. It's pretty clear that's what Keefe and Dubas are also leaning towards after watching the past few games.

That’s highly unlikely Buffalo is 11 points behind that likely won’t happen

I'm really liking McCabe, it's just that after we got him the blueline looked unstoppable.

Now we're down a young, Top 6 Dman with elite potential.

A fan can dream, can't he? wink

That said, it is unlikely but the Bolts are struggling having gone 2-5-3 in their last 10 while looking old, slow and worn in the process. Maybe that's what three consecutive SCF appearances will do to a team. I'd hazard to guess that if any of the Sabres, Islanders, Pens or Sens get on a real roll, it will get interesting at least. Eleven points is a steep hill to climb, and it will take a collapse in Tampa, but it isn't out of the question.
