This goes for you and everyone that posts rosters for the Pens... in no way will Dumo ever get less than Maatta, no way! He led the Pens in ice time in the playoffs and in the reg season was next behind Letang. He is easily the Pens 2nd best Dman. My guess is that he will be paid around 4.5MM

Non-offensive defensemen don't get the money they deserve. Look at Marc-Edward Vlasic's contract he signed when he was 25.

This max money Dumo should be getting is 4 mill plus there isn't much chance you sign him past 4 years because were always have Letang and Matta's long term contracts.

If I were GM JR I would sign him for as long as I possibly could. He is just a solid player who doesn't make many mistakes and can play in nearly every scenario. Lock him up young to save money.

This is about precedent, when you just signed another defensemen for 4.083MM you dont go and sign a better defensemen on your team for less than that. Maatta set the bar, like it or not Dumo will get more

Let's not mention he helped them win back to back cups as well...He will want to get paid.

If you think you can sign Shultz for $4.5, you better sign Dumo for the same price tag or lose him.

Totally agree, I think both take about a 500K discount to stay in PIT and sign for 4.5MM for 4-5 years
