Just hear me out. I love gally and i dont want to trade him, however the canadiens have a depth of wingers that makes gally not necessary, since the habs have byron chucky radulov patches lehkonen, and with those wingers one is still going to be wasted on the third line. Giving up gally will make space for lehkonen to have a top 6 role since i think he will have a breakout year in 2017-2018.

Im not sure if arizona would accept this, but i am willing to give up more picks to get it done. So i could change the pick to a second or maybe even a first

The reason i am not trading for a pick in this years draft is that nolan patrick is not a generational talent while the 2018 class is supposed to be as good as 2015. Also a first is worth less when you dont know where your picking so this is raiser then trading for this years #1 arizona might have #1 next year which could get us a center.

But but but what if they make the playoffs next year? Arizona has a lot of prospects who could go from nothing to star in the matter of a season. That's a big risk you asking for. That 1st rounder may not end up being that good.

yeah I don't see ARZ trading a 1st round pick without getting one back too. Plus that COL deal isn't close.

Agreed, Colorado would have to throw some more assets in. Galchenyuk is already a better player, and is younger. His new contract should be in the same ball park but longer term.
