Honestly though I am curious to see what NYR does this offseason to fit Chytil, Laf, Miller extensions in. I don't expect them to let any of them leave but it is going to take some maneuvering for sure. If anything maybe they decide to move Chytil given they have Trochek and Zibenejad but I've really liked Chytil's development the past 18months.

Agree with all you said, should be interesting to see what Drury does. IMO, a lot will depend on how they play in the playoffs. If Chytil has a good playoff performance again, I can't imagine Drury trading him, but you never know in a salary cap league.

Ya for sure. Looks like there is going to have to be a cap casualty somewhere. Taresenko and Kane throw another wrench into things as well if they decide they want to try to keep one of them.

Oh, no doubt there will be a cap casualty next season, and as I said, I think the direction Drury goes will depend on how they do in the playoffs. But Miller is a no brainer to sign, no matter what happens in the playoffs. The only question about his next contract is it a 2-year bridge deal or does Drury commit long term? Laffy gets a bridge deal similar to Kakko's, probably a little higher like $2.5m x 2. Chytil is the wildcard. Does Drury trade Goodrow to keep Chytil or does he trade Chytil while his value is high to sign Kane? Should be interesting.

Ya I 100percent agree. I think they will end up bridging Miller on a 2 or 3 year deal in that 4-5.5 mil range. Just don't see how they can get that contract done long term without him taking a big discount

Probably right. The first contract Drury handed out was a 3-year deal to Lindgren at $3m/season, so maybe similar for K'Andre in the $4 to $5 range as you say. I think a 3-year deal would bring him to UFA status too. If I had my way, I would lock the kid up to 7 or 8 years because there is no limit how good he can be, his talent and potential are that great.

Ya I agree on Miller. That's why I offer sheeted him lol. I'm sure it's agent and him feel the same way as well. If he bridges he could lock up a nurse for contract after that with continued development

There is another thing to consider with the Rangers which is Shesterkin is signed for 2 more years after this season at just $5.75m/season. His cap hit is going to be much higher his next contract, so Drury may get in the mind set that they need to do everything they can to try to win a cup this year or the next two while Shesty's cap hit is cheap, and if he does, he may sacrifice some youth to sign Kane or Tarasenko instead of a Chytil or even Laffy. I hope not, but he could go that direction.
