Description
Pens trade: we might be able to take Petry

this year, trade Beauviller at TDL if he wants to become more expensive, rinse and repeat what we did with Horvat
Petey gets 11.5x8
Hronek gets 6.5x8 given working the 2nd unit and being .6ppg
Podz gets 3x6 given him being a PK specialist and .5ppg
Beauviller can stay for anything less than 6m for 5 years given he is greater than .85ppg
I believe that Livingstone and McDonough will only be able to sign 2 year ELC's for the 23 year and 23-24 season

Vancouver takes all those trades if they were offered, I don't see all of them happening though. I do appreciate your optimism regarding Fantilli, but unfortunately I think that's more likely a fantasy than a reality.

If Washington is trading McMichael, I'd expect it to be for a bigger impact than Boeser. (Schmaltz, for example)

It’s always nice to hear a voice of reason, Yes that is a valid point, it is a long shot but so is bedard, knowing the Canucks, chances are we are going to end up 10th and pick 12th

I think they might be looking at Boeser, He has developed more of a playmaking side and they are starting to need scoring more and more, I could see them trying to get a guy of boeser’s ilk

Perhaps, I know some of the more knowledgeable Caps reporters said the Caps were not interested in Boeser a few months back but perhaps they’ve changed their tune. Unfortunately for Washington, they’ll be right up against the cap in the offseason, and likely won’t have room for anyone making more money than Mantha (assuming Mantha is moved), so Boeser at 6.6 would become a problem.

I would be surprised if they didnt move some money, I think that money will be moving more this off season like what happened with Pitt, NJD and MTL last offseason

Unfortunately Washington doesn’t have a whole lot of expendable money to move. Backstrom is certainly no longer worth 9 mil but I think Ovi might murder Brian MacLellan if he tried to trade Backstrom, Oshie’s a rough contract but is also the only guy who makes the power play work, Kuzy might be traded but again the Ovi problem, leaving on Mantha as a truly expendable asset. His 5.7 will be nice coming off the books but if the Caps want to run a 23 man roster, I don’t think they’ll be able to fit in Boeser.
