Sorry . . . one season of Joel Edmundson isn't worth Mavrik Bourque OR the second.

Sorry, but that offer isn't close to bringing PLD to Montreal.

First, there is absolutely no chance the Jets wait until 25 for a first. They'd move him elsewhere before that.

Second, the Jets aren't taking back a bad contract in Dvorak. In Winnipeg at best he's a 3W but in all likelihood a 4C and is far too expensive and too bad defensively for that role. Dvorak has no value to Winnipeg.

Mesar is an okay B prospect but likely has minimal value to Winnipeg.

Trudeau a long shot low end LHD. Less than no value to Winnipeg.

Overall, less than Winnipeg gets at the TDL and this offer would easily be beaten by multiple teams.

Ill take the typical asking price on top-4 D with cup experience, over this reply. Apologies

I agree… so what does WIN get for PLD at the deadline next year?

I doubt he will be available at the deadline next year. He'll have either signed an extension in Winnipeg or have been traded in the summer, imo.

What makes you think he's a top-4 defenseman? He's not even a top 4 defenseman ON YOUR TEAM, which hasn't been accused of being a strong defensive team this season. Matheson and Guhle get more ice time, and Matheson, Guhle and Harris have all scored more than twice as many points as Edmundson -- Guhle in fewer games. (Let's not even talk about the fact that Edmundson has the worst plus-minus of ANY of your defensemen, because plus-minus is a very coarse statistic.) And if he goes to Dallas, as you have him here, do you think that there's a ghost of a chance of his playing in the top 4 when the Stars have Heiskanen and Lindell on that side?!?

If traded, what does he fetch?

Well likely Winnipeg will let teams talk to his agent and be open to a sign and trade. I would think a 1st, some player or prospect worth a 1st and another b type prospect would be the deal. Also jets are not talking on any contract where the cash is higher than the cap hit so no one on the Montreal roster fits that bill. Dvorak, gallagher, anderson, hoffman and armia in the next 1-2 yrs all make way more cash than than cap hit. Jets will be having an internal budget I will not want those contracts period.
