Wyatt Johnston with the goal. I'll be honest, I was mad that we didn't take Othmann instead of trading down, but it looks like Johnston was absolutely the right pick.

Dallas season opener was truly a vintage Stars experience - taking a tight win after making the opposition goaltender look like a Vezina contender.</div></div>
Was thinking the exact same thing. Somehow mid-tier and bad goalies always look elite when they play us. Hoping with the development of the young guys that we can change that.
My completely unrealistic predictions for the season:
-Jamie Benn repeats last season's performance
-Tyler Seguin has a major rebound (~75 points this season)

What do you all know about Derrick Pouliot? Looks like he got a good bit of NHL time early in his career, but has primarily been an AHL guy for the past 4 seasons. Looks like he's gonna be in Cedar Park this season.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>justaBoss</b></div><div>Faksa or Marchment for nothing is probably the best bet.
That, or those two for a D-man.
Would trade Marchment+pick/prospect for Tanev. That'd be ideal scenario.</div></div>
Marchment is close with the coaching staff (both DeBoer and Sprott), so trading him right now seems unlikely. Dumping Faksa with that contract is gonna be expensive and then leaves us without a 4C. Steel is kinda meh.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>justaBoss</b></div><div>Lindell's NMC makes him untradeable. Trading Hakanpää also feels unlikely, we already have plethora of LHDs but lack of RHDs.
Reckon Bayreuther will be the 8th D in case on injuries, similar to Butcher. He will likely spend the season in Cedar Park.</div></div>
I can't really think of any other realistic way for Nill to create the cap space to re-sign Dellandrea and have more than 12 forwards.

Dallas signs a familiar face in Bayreuther. Looks like it's a one way contract too. Maybe he's the replacement for Hakanpaa? Or maybe the Stars are gonna deal Lindell?

Gudas is a 'culture change' move (<em>shock </em>even) to <strong><em>"The Country Club of Anaheim Ducks" </em></strong>

A bunch of former Stars' prospects that became UFA's this summer have signed elsewhere.
Rhett Gardner- Philadelphia
Riley Tufte- Colorado
Ryan Shea- Pittsburgh
Ben Gleason- Edmonton
Between cutting bait on a bunch of guys that could never find an NHL roster spot and declining to sign a bunch of players they drafted, Nill has really cleaned out the prospect pool this summer to make way for a bunch of new ones.

Dumoulin to Seattle to replace Soucy. At that cost, I don't see why they couldn't just re-sign Soucy?
