How so many people on this site don’t understand how hockey trades work
Some of you have been here for so long and yet, your hockey knowledge don’t develop

Yes but the trade need to make sense
You can trade futures considerations vs McDavid and say : players get traded for future considerations all the time

They all don’t make sense
See, you’re wrong thinking MTL would trade Dvorak with retention for a 3rd round pick when Dvorak does all the dirty work and still 5th in scoring for the team. Best faceoff guy, good mentor, decent defensively.

28 points in 64 games is less than ideal. Calling him decent defensively gave me a chuckle because if you even bothered doing any digging, you would know that he is literally one of the worst defensive forwards in the entire league this season

Digging ? Look at the game and you’ll see he’s fine. It’s a 5 on 5 game and he played with wingers who don’t know how to defend
Funny how many of you on here don’t watch hockey at all and come comments on players you never seen played

You simply can't judge a player's defensive game just by watching him. Dont pretend that you are so knowledgeable about the game that you are able to pick out all the small details of the game. Analytics suggest that he is HORRENDOUS defensively. Individual impact. He is actively hurting his team when he is on the ice

That’s why you can’t judge a player by analytics

Lol analytics are certainly more reliable than your homerglass tinted lens. Are you going to give me a justification why everybody should trust your eye test more than most analytical models?

I don’t care someone with zero hockey knowledge doesn’t want to trust me. Just look at my post and they are quite realistic, sometimes it’s fun going off because being realistic all the time is kinda boring. But you can’t say homerglass, I’m not saying Dvorak is worth a 1st, but I’m saying MTL aren’t retaining on him if they end up trading him. Kent Hughes said he is not retaining on long terms contract. Look, Drouin-Anderson-Caufield-Pitlick-Hoffman suck big time defensively, Suzuki Dach Pezzetta are ok, Dvorak Armia are above average & Evans is really good

You claim that I have zero hockey knowledge which is untrue, however at least I have the ability to read. Not once did I mention Dvorak's trade value. I simply pointed out that he is very bad defensively and that the eye test does not always allow you to see that.

If you want to believe he is bad defensively because of analytics, believe whatever you want. You won’t change idea unless you watch the guy play

I wasn’t saying you have zero knowledge and never learned, I was saying people in general. The ones sending Dvorak to STL for a 1st, I saw one guy said yes MTL accept a 3rd for Dvorak. People are just clueless how value work for players
