Yeah the blues aren't trading their top 10 pick for Keller. We don't have the cap space for him

Arizona is doing exactly 0 of these trades, they make absolutely no sense for anyone involved.

No, no he’s not. Goalies don’t fetch that high of returns, so he’s immensely more valuable to Arizona with his cost certainty and play than a 2nd and some random C prospect would be.

It doesn’t, that’s correct. Keller is signed long term, wants to be here, and is over a PPG, what exactly are the odds you’re getting that mix again? Pittsburgh doesn’t even do that trade, but Arizona isn’t trading their power forward who’s having a nice season that’s a perfect match for their best prospect in Cooley. You’re trading Hayton why exactly? He’s been over .7 PPG on the top line, go look at money puck’s league line rankings, you’ll find Keller-hayton-schmaltz right behind Crosby’s line. Edmonton trade is fine, doubt they do it though. The Montreal trade is terrible. Why would we want to pay armia who blows, when we can just re-sign Fischer who’s great in the locker room and better on the ice for less money?

Reading a paragraph is hard I’m sure. Carry on with the lack of league knowledge then.

Caught quite a few games in the old rink, enjoy following coyote’s adventures. What’s latest? Don’t get much in Canada other than doom and gloom. Probably another nice pick to add to the fold this year in lottery, so interesting nucleus yet, hopefully soderstrom still turns out on blueline.

For all the doom and gloom players have actually raved about the playing surface, which has quieted 90% of the chatter so positives on the stadium front.

As far as the team goes? The top line is elite, Keller is taking a major star turn with hayton and schmaltz on the top line. Kells has the 2nd most points since the all star break behind some McDavid guy, hayton has developed into what he was drafted to be, a top 6 C, and if schmaltz could stay healthy for a full season I’d bet a lot he’d have a PPG season too, as it is he’s got 45 in 49 games this year. Crouse has a 20 goal season, fixed his skating to the point that he posted one of the fastest top speeds last year, and just an ideal power forward. Logan Cooley (3OA last year) was named the top prospect in the league about a month ago, and Guenther didn’t look out of place in the league at all despite getting sent back to the WHL. We also have the 3rd best rookie producer this year in matias maccelli who’s only 22. Valimaki has 12 points in 15 games filling in for chychrun and is analytically better than him defensively when he took the harder matchups than the Chych-ghost pairing.

That’s the very long version of the current state of the team, but it’s a pretty exciting time to live here and be a fan.

Appreciate the update, hoping to be back being a snow bird soon, Vegas or Phoenix we will see what kind of a bargain we can find. Always enjoyed trips to the old rink, kind of waiting on rink to be settled before we settle on new spot. Love some coyote hockey though, hope they are headed on the right path.

If you enjoyed the old rink you’d love where the proposed new one is, just a far better place from an accessibility and entertainment standpoint. As far as the markets, definitely wait it out. Both Arizona and Nevada saw a ton of California transplants when work from home was a thing, but speaking for our market we’re already seeing a price decline due to people having to move back.

The team is moving forward though, tourigny is a héll of a coach, and Bill Armstrong was the head scout and then AGM in St. Louis that drafted the majority of their core. They’re finally doing it right, with things looking promising on the arena referendum it’s a lot brighter here than national media portrays

Sold our house in buckeye at a relative peak, so hoping to find something smaller and closer to new rink, airport, and casino. 3 prerequisites lol. Loved showing up at noon for a 7 o’clock game and hold down patio stools til the game was ready. Little older, one may argue wiser, but will be fun to escape winter and be a regular at coyotes games again. Closet coyotes fan in the middle of jets/oilers/flames country with Toronto and Montreal fans mixed in.

You’re definitely the kind of person who’d love the Tempe stadium then. You could even live in Mesa near Mesa CC which has light rail access that would drop you too and from the yotes arena, easy access onto the 101 that would have you at casino Arizona in 5 minutes and 10 or so to talking stick (far better option.) Personally I’m looking in south Scottsdale between Tempe/asu and old town Scottsdale. Easy access to everything, way more to offer than buckeye, less immediate golfing options though

Appreciate the insight, had quite a few adventures in old town Scottsdale also, buckeye was all right for pool and bbq around the house and easy access to football or hockey, but ya it definitely lacked in everything else. Hopefully bedard coming, maybe Mathews could be quite the squad coming, Keller and bedard I think would be ridiculous together and some push back from crouse and you compete with everybody else.

No problem, always happy to help central Canadians, you guys love to talk hockey and have a few beers, always welcome around here. I hope matthews comes home, but I think we’ll be ok without him as long as we get bedard or fantilli

Even michkov could be interesting, kind of a teemu selanne effect appearing 4 years after drafting, if I’m Montreal with two picks he could be a rather interesting gamble.

Well with the way the senators are playing we could make it interesting with two top 11 picks. I’d happily take michkov then David reinbacher or Nate danielson

Danielson is a smart solid add, he plays junior locally, don’t know the reinbacher, forgot about the sens pick, that could be interesting gamble if michkov falls into right spot with a danielson and geekie for some depth in top 9

Watching a lot of geekie’s game, I think he’s a power forward LW, more so than a C. I love everything I’ve seen from Danielson, absolutely excellent in transition, carrying a bad Brandon team. Reinbacher is a seider type swing

Geekie danielson could be a interesting duo on a line, might not crack that top line minutes, but key guys none the less in a continued build toward success, like both there all around games, just not sure if elite scoring is in either future. But solid adds none the less, maybe a poor man’s Brady tkachuk and a lesser Cooley possibly. Not sure what the right comparisons would be for those two.

I like geekie to be a softer handed crouse. Really good shot, good playmaker, can win puck battles. Danielson is an interesting case because he reminds me a lot of cozens, but doesn’t have the same size. Similar ability to dictate the center of the ice and skate though
