Erik Brannstrom has very good underlying numbers, especially in the defensive end. Edmondson is a consistent tire fire defensively and he hurts his team offensively too. Brannstrom by a mile. He won't be expensive to hang on to, I'd be shocked if he got any more than the 1.75mil you have Edmundson at, and he's a drastic improvement in all three zones. Sens have absolutely no reason to be moving off of cost effective young assets given the cap crunch they're facing.

I mean i see the value its just we couldnt take another LD if you paid us too .
Even if we skated another one on LD , we'd have to get rid of another LD to do so.

With Hutson on his way and Engstrom 2nd in SHL Rookie Scoring our LD has overachievers everywhere including Laval when Trudeau turned pro a year early.
But having 2/3 VGK 1st round picks from their 1st draft is pretty amusing and Matheson's hurt as often as he's not so short term there might be a solution .

The upside here is he might be able to take top RD spot from Savard if Capfriendly is correct and EB plays both sides.
Otherwise i just dont see how he'd get any icetime in MTL over a Xhekaj , Harris, Ghule or Matheson

I think the offer for some of these guys is low as well; no way DeBrincat signs for 8x8, for example.

I'd keep Brannstrom and sign him for 3x$1.75M as @Claesson4Norris suggested, put Kastelic as 4C, don't resign Holden and give his salary to DeBrincat to keep 'em, Joseph as 3RW (or better yet, trade him away) but don't sign Bjugstad and use that money to boost some of our RFAs, put Grieg on 3LW, Sokolov 4LW, Brassard as a scratch. I do like Bjugstad so maybe sign him over Watson, but I do see the value of Watson since he's some grit in the bottom-6.

But that involves a lot of our own players so is kind of boring to have as a AC-GM

But I realize that fans from other teams might not know how good Brannstrom has been. He was thought to purely be an OFD, they look at hockeydb.com and think he's a semi bust.

Batherson makes 4.975 AAV, DBC is not better

And IMO he is nowhere near Stutzle, Tkachuk and an healthy Norris who all make ~8.0 AAV
