Description

Thoughts:
- I know it is adding a lot of salary, but your top two centers are locked up and they will give Dahlin and Power raises for long-term deals that will kick in 2024-25. Other than that, it is a lot of rookie/bridge deals until the Markstrom and Couture contracts come off the books.
- Markstrom doesn't stop Levi from being the guy while also not rushing him into the top job. Couture is everything that Buffalo needs (leader, defensive abilities, scoring, veteran, depth, versatility, etc.)
- Savoie will either be in juniors or in the NHL and I think him staying in juniors does him no good. Let him play wing to start his career or put him at 3C with Couture and Krebs on his wings.
- Trying to get more physical and just better defensively on the back end and in the bottom six. Dahlin and Power will be on the ice most of the time and the otherwise just need guys who can acknowledge there are offensive players on the ice from the opposing team and get in their collective way.
- Jokiharju is best as a third pairing guy. Korczak is a big and physical defenseman who could move up and be the stay-at-home guy for Power.
- I also don't care.
