Unless Buffalo falls another 2-3 spots in the standing, Connor Bedard isn't happening. Right now the very best Buffalo can finish is 3rd overall with them climbing up 10 spots.

Decent chance at least two of VAN/DET/STL pass them in the standings.

Doubt it'll be Detroit with the injuries starting to pile up again, But possibly St Louis and Vancouver might as both have been playing decently here as of late.

I would say Detroit will probably pass them. That would put the Sabres in the 10 spot. There’s even a chance Vancouver could pass them too. The odds of winning the lottery are incredibly slim, and I think the rest of the league would throw a complete fit if it happened. The wheels have completely come off on the Sabres bandwagon since the trade deadline. It’s been incredibly depressing, but the idea of getting a really good talent in the top 10 of the draft again when we have shown a lot of promise this season is some comfort.

That plus the schedule and goaltending in BUF to end the year. It will be close between those four teams.

Detroit has the 2nd toughest schedule, Plus now it looks like Husso is injured. So it's looking like Ned and Hellberg. We're probably toast for the last 12 games or so. I'd be totally shocked to see Detroit pass Buffalo in the standings.

Very doubtful Detroit passes Buffalo in the standings, Husso is now injured so we'll probably be riding Ned and Hellberg the rest of the season, Rasmussen, Fabbri, Chiarot and Erne are all more than likely done for the season. Plus we've other players that're nursing injuries and playing through them. I see us falling back to the 8th or 9th range. Which with this deep draft i'm fine with that.

Why would the Devils do that?
