Weegar won't be traded but Hanifin or Tanev might be possible if Konecney is going the other way.

Weegar won't get moved by the Flames at all. Don't think that his 6.25x8 contract would be taken on by anyone at all, especially if the cap only rises by $1M next season. Don't think the Flyers would give up Sanheim either.

Salary is the same for Sanheim and I’d make that swap in a heartbeat.

Flyers don’t need a LHD, and Tanev isn’t worth TK.

Sure, but I didn't say Tanev for Konecney straight up. The Flames don't need LHD (Sanheim) either and even if they did, RHD Weegar a good two way defenseman who can play either side is the better more valuable player.

The Flames need a top 6 forward preferably a big right shot sniper not yet another left shot LD. Konecney isn't big and he's more of a playmaker than a sniper but he'd still be far more interesting to the Flames than a LHD who'd be very highly paid for where he'd fit into Calgary's lineup.

Ahhhh, it seemed like the Flames had a bunch of RHD when I checked but were light on LHD. The Flyers are actually deep at RW with TK, Tippet, Foerster, Atkinson, Allison and Brink.

Weegar is clearly the better player right now, BUT he is also gonna be 30 starting an 8 year contract, Sanheim is still fairly young I think he will bounce back, If we are gonna trade him I prefer it be a move to get younger, and then sign stop gap players too ease young Dman into the NHL

Tippett is the only one of the others Calgary would have much interest in at this time. I wanted Calgary to get Tippett from Florida a few years ago. I like his size and potential but he isn't worth as much as Konecney is.... Not yet anyhow and may never be.

I get that but who is a RHD with potential first pairing upside you would target? I feel like Weegar is a ‘young 30’, took him a bit to develop. In two years, a D core of
Provorov- Weegar
York-Risto
Andrae-Attard

Could be pretty decent

Yea but I mean we won't be an amazing team for the first 3 years of his contract which will also be the best years imo.

We have 2 24' Firsts, early signs make it seem like a pretty solid Defensive class. One I'm gonna pay a lot of attention too is David Jiriceks brother Adam. Very similar stats, build(6'2) and also Right shot, and I liked what I saw from the small amounts of video. Also I think if they are further along next year than expected they could target a young RFA RHD via trade. Reinvesting the excess assets they recieve via selling some players.

I would be fine Running
Provorov/Sanheim - Risto
York - FA/Zamula
Zamula - Seeler/Attard

and just shuffling combos as needed
