Harris is too valuable to us right now in the room to get rid of him for someone who is most likely already coming in UFA.

Harris and ylonen have no value to the jets just start at Florida's first and kidney and add a bit more and you're there

Wouldn't even make it the Habs 2023 2nd eh, CapFriendly greed right there for ya... lol

Jets really don't need Harris or any LHD unless its Guhle but you're not trading him so it'd need to be a prospect that at least is at a position of need like center or RHD.

Ylonen looks decent and the Jets prospect pool is pretty thin, they could definitely use him.

Yeah but guess what he's a skill guy but would never break through to the top six. He would diminish his value as he would be in the bottom where he would struggle to succeed playing not to his strengths. That's why sure he has value but to the jets would be minimal compared to getting someone like kidney or Kapanen that may be worse currently but fit the timeline better as well as longer team control

Sure, the Jets top six is pretty flat though and Wheeler is in major decline.

But yeah, this poorly run organization can't see whats in front of them so Ylonen gets saddled in a bottom six role with the plugs down there and amounts to nothing like so many Jets prospects before... 😒

He is actually pretty good defensively. He reminds me of Lehkonen, less gritty but better offensively.
Middle 6 guy with potential to play up the lineup.

Yeah but ultimately the jets love to take players that don't have a role in the top six and play them with black hole offensive players. Look at vesalainen, he was subjected to bottom six and could never get confidence as he played like 8 mins a night and never got to use his shot and deceptive offense abilities and was turned into a 4th line grinder. Ylonen would be in the same conversation and thus even tho he could be a better player I'd rather take a player that is farther away like Kapanen so they can play ahl. Last thing Jets need is bottom sixers especially those with some upside which will be lost. Also bottom sixers are always available via free agency or internal depth. Like reichel is a player that I feel more confident playing bottom six as his value is already relatively low so realistically he can only improve.

If that was Montreal's actual offer, the Jets would just sign PLD to his QO and move him at the TDL for the standard first and a good prospect.

PLD has no trade protection and has no leverage to prevent that.
