Initial Creation Date: Mar. 28, 2023
Published: Mar. 28, 2023

Description
With good health throughout the season, this team could definitely fight for a wild card spot all year long. This is also with the assumption that the have lose the lottery and draft Will Smith or Benson / someone who won't play right away.

There's no logical or rational reason for the Jets to trade Dubois for less than he gets as a rental at the TDL

you're getting a first, second and roster player. you're not getting more than that as a rental.

Dvorak has very little value, The dude hasn't even scored 40 yet. You need to at least add the Florida 1st to the offer. No way does Chevy move PLD for this offer.

Washington isn't even close to a wild card team yet, Florida, Tampa, Toronto. Plus Buffalo, Ottawa and Detroit are all getting much better. East is going to be tough again with a lot of up and coming young team ready to make their push.

I mean on paper I could see this roster being competitive with all those "up and coming young teams" especially with the play of Matheson who's been lights out as on the top pair along with all the additions and depth this team has.

??? It's missing the first. You're offering two players valued at about a 3rd each, neither of which the Jets would target in a trade and a 2nd. A first and good prospect is the minimum at the TDL and the Jets have no reason to accept less.

I don't mean to burst your bubble... but you have to know that Montreal (with Dubois) have no chance at being close to the wild card spot next year. If you want to argue the year after that (only if Matthews leaves TO, Tampa implodes and Boston is too old to compete), then you have a chance and even then, it'll be a dog fight to the very end...

If I were Hughes, I would be shipping off Suzuki or Caufield (prob Suzuki considering he is older), Dach, Allen, Matheson and Savard for their values at draft day and try to compete in 2026-27 when all of these teams have imploded (maybe not But and Ott but they will be on their last hurrah). When trading the players above, teams with bad GMs (EDM, PITS, TBL, PHI etc.) would be GMs that I would be calling first to start the price high.

Julien Brisebois has won more cups as GM in 4 years than Montreal has in 30 but, ok he's a bad GM all time most moronic comment.

Because Steve Yzerman definitely didn't build 95% of what Brisebois used to win those cups 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄. He payed 2 1sts for Hagel and 5 picks and a former 1st for Jeannot. Those aren't good moves.

You saying this with that Dubois trade is very ironic... the East is going to be stacked next year (no wild card), the year after (no wild card) and the year after that (no wild card). That leaves 2026-27

Julien Brisebois was also a big part of what Yzerman built. And Yzerman doesn't do Coleman and Goodrow trades. He doesn't believe in trading 1st round picks like Julien Brisebois does. Yzerman didn't draft Stamkos Hedman Killorn. So, no he didn't build 95%

Tampa still wins the cup even without the Coleman and Goodrow trades... Yzerman 100% drafted Stamkos Hedman and Killorn

No they don't go B2B without Goodrow Gourde Coleman line

No Stamkos and Hedman were Drafted by Brian Lawton Alex Killorn was drafted by Jay Feaster
Yzerman's first Pick as GM Was Brett Connolly

The owner who hired Yzerman said he bought the team because he had a great foundation with Hedman Stamkos St.Louis Lecavalier

They 100% do with Gourde and that cap space. Fair with the Stamkos and Hedman but they were each 1st overall pick whereas guys like Vasy/Point/Kuch/Cerrelli/Palat/ later (you, the core), flipped for Sergachev, traded for Miller and McDonagh/dumped Bishop and received Cernak in the process etc.
