Bringing in Orlov just clogs your left side for when Evans is supposed to come in.

They can move Oleksiak to the right side and put evans at 3LD.

Then you'd be paying Borgen 2m to sit on the sidelines, like what you're doing to Schultz here.

I don't think the answer for Seattle is Orlov

Easy no from ottawa. Sens didn't spend years developing branny just to give him away for a useless pick

Schultz is a bad defenseman so Sitting him should be a priority. Luckily Seattle doesn’t have many bad contracts so they can afford to scratch an overpaid vet.

They can also just walk Borgen to UFA with a 1 year 1.25 mill dollar contract.

Orlov is a top pair D , Seattle needs another one if they want to contend

If Ottawa trades Brannstrom it will be part of a package for a better player.

It seems like Brannstrom is the odd man out next season.

His market value can’t be that high right now so he’d just be a throw in.

He's been unreal the last couple of weeks in Ottawa. So if his market value isn't high then that's all the more reason not to trade him.

I agree with you, it just seems like Ottawa wants Kleven to replace him .

I disagree. It seems they want Kleven-Brannstrom to be the long-term third pair.

Brannstrom is a real quality 3rd pair Dmen. Ottawa is gonna need quality depth on affordable deals if they're ever gonna take the next step, Brannstrom is absolutely a part of that picture. A 2nd does nothing for the team for probably another 4 years.

Kleven literally has not played an NHL game yet. We do not have any clue about where his game is at the pro level, he could be years in the minors before he gets his NHL footing. Even if he is close to the NHL, there's no reason to expect him to be as effective right away after Brannstrom is now.

Also the two players compliment each other perfectly on paper, the best case scenario for Ottawa is those two playing together

I don't know why Seattle would give up wennberg for a 6th rounder.
