Description

We'll likely be seeing the last of Brendan Gallagher as a Montreal Canadien in the next couple of years. An undersized player and one that plays in his style is not one that will hang around the NHL for a long time. His injuries are beginning to catch up with him and with the amount of time lost causing the drop off in his production, it's nearing the end for the long-time unofficial captain of the Canadiens. I'm expecting he rides out the rest of his contract on LTIR or is dumped starting in the 2024-25 season--at which time Farrell and Harvey-Pinard have assumed his place.

Kinda wishful thinking that Gallagher can be dumped.....or even his career ending LTIR is iffy.

gally is this way he plays next year.... when he gets hurt you start working in his replacement... and the following season the same thing... So he plays 40 to 60 games a season... Then with 2 years left on his contract you either trade it for an assets or you buy him out then the cap penalty will be for 4 years and not 8 years,, obviously montreal may trade one of way too many propects to move him but i think that will onlty be doable when he just has two years left...

Dubois trade is fair but only with a signed extension.... and 60 points doesnt make you an 8 million man.. if he wants that for when he is 35 and 36 then he can play someone else....
