I think you are correct about how pushing off the rebuild will cost us

Wish I could agree but Boston would sweep us. Dont know if we get in though. I think Detroit will be a tougher test for us than the Wild weirdly. We always play well against bigger teams then struggle against the faster ones, whether good or bad.

This is a fair point I just have strong feeling the pens will step it up and make the playoffs then ride the momentum

Also they have best chance with the games remaining wings hawks and jackets all very winnable games

They'll somehow make the playoffs and get swept by BOS in all one goal games that they give up in the last 2 minutes of the game haha

I think we'll lose Detroit but who knows. Can never really predict with this team. Just looking in the past we struggle against bad teams that have younger, faster forwards. Detroit Montreal Senators all examples. Columbus almost beat us too so we'll see. Tough for me to see Florida or Islanders losing too. Isles have easy schedule and Panthers play Montreal and Carolina who have nothing to play for and will likely rest stars.

Bottom six is just as bad as it is now and the goaltending might be even worse.

It’s a very possible depiction of how the Penguins will approach things next season. As long as Ron Hextall is the GM and as long as Sid remains adamant on his refusal to allow the Penguins to rebuild, expect a ton of boneheaded decisions between now and Sid’s retirement.
