Quick side note as well, they have Kochetkov and backups are not expensive lol

Clearly you haven’t seen him play throughout this year. He was, at times, Carolina’s best goalie and is only in the AHL because he isn’t waiver eligible while Raanta is. He’s a young goalie who is likely to get better next year with a full workload and just got a 4 year extension to be the Canes next young goalie. Why would they then go out and allocate 3 mil+ for some veteran who’d be a backup?

just like Matt Murray was at times Toronto's best goalie. Why would they sign some veteran. They can just pay for Swayman and he and Kochetkov can share the crease

And why would Boston deal Swayman? Ullmark isn’t going to be there forever and who knows if he can replicate this season. Kochetkov is also a young goalie with limited experience, whereas Murray is an older goalie with no glove hand and an extensive injury history, they aren’t comparable. Kochetkov has already had a strong playoff appearance against a good team, and played well this year. Ask any Carolina fan and they’ll agree, there’s no reason to go out and spend 3+ mil on another goalie.

Raanta and Anderson are old and probably might get resigned

Raanta, maybe. But again, there isn't a huge need for either with Kochetkov's emergence. and since backups like Comrie and Lindgren didn't even get close to 2 mil on their contracts, there is no reason Carolina can't simply spend 1.5ish on a backup and go from there. Then, they would have zero issue spending in other areas, such as the proposed Kuznetsov trade above.

This guy definitely didn't have a clue about Canes cap space and was just throwing out wrong info hoping to be right lolololol

Lol right? They have 35m in cap space. That’s an insane amount. It was terrible takes mixed with embarrassing math skills

Oilers may not be able to afford him. I can agree on that one

Edmonton would be cap-in, cap-out. Meaning they would have to move a $3M salary in order to take on a $3M salary. I don't see it happening, myself, but it's not impossible.
