Wahlstrom played 35 games this season and he still ranks as one of the better two way forwards on the isles. Dont know what you’re talking about

I didn't object to that - however take a look at some other similar scenarios. His health has limited him from continued optimal performance today. Wahlstrom still is in the bridge contract range, and similar players get between 1.5-2m on these types of contracts: Comtois/Terry/Zadina/Gurianov/Puljujarvi's first contract. This is because these players seeking their first RFA have no arbitration rights, so unless they are highly impressive on their ELC, they are unlikely to make noise on their first bridge.
