I'm a big believer in Colton but you can probably pay him a bit less. Ned isnt going to resign and I'd be surprised if Suter or Chaisson was back. I admit I don't understand your love for Ryan Johansen but if we're gonna take him I'd try to give Nashville something to entice them into retaining a bit on him.

I think it needs more from Detroit . This makes me think you see Myers as a negative value. I think JBB disagrees with that.

I first went with 3.5M but wasn't sure so just went to 4.5M.
RyJo is a legit 2C. Plays a two way game. Wins alot of faceoffs. Has the skills but just doesn't put up the points. He would just be a stop gap. I feel that the asking price wouldn't be ridiculous if they were alright with moving him given his cap hit. Nashville I doubt would want to retain on two years at something like 2M and I wouldn't want to pay for it. The pieces moved I feel are expendable, I know some people like Veleno but I can live without him. Also I think trying to acquire a 2C via trade would be very costly and I'm so for waiting for Kasper, or in this instance, Yager to be ready to take it. I would be very happy with Moore as well in the draft. If we aren't in the playoffs when his contract expires, I feel like we could get a decent return with retention on him, might not be as much as well paid but still recoup something.

I wouldn't really consider him that much of a negative asset with his contract next year, only 250K against the cap in the minors, but it is a bit more relief. It's really hard to gauge his value in a trade. Colton can score, he hits, plays good all around from what I've seen. I know I have him on my top line but he's a middle six winger that can play centre a bit. Not that they would but an offer sheet of 4.2M is only a second. I was hoping Zadina would be a bit of a sweetener to take a chance on.

Also I'm a big believer on giving Ned another chance. As long as he still wants to be in Detroit. The whole time in the minors might have hurt that.
Suter is a really good PK guy and defensive forward with a bit of offensive upside. I'm keeping him for a fourth line roll.

I disagree with the middle six assessment how many times do we have to see guys as middle 6 on TB to go elsewhere and be a clear top 6. Carter Verheaghe, Jonathan Marchessault, Yanni Gourde. You really think Yzerman Offer Sheets someone? Especially a bolt? 2 you have to get him to sign it. Does Yzerman risk doing that with the RFA's he's got coming up?

Lol I was hoping you wouldn't say that. That was my argument I was hoping to make. That said what do you seem as fair, I don't see him getting a first but maybe a prospect added in?

Not really personally I think if he spent most of a season with point and Kucherov he'd be a 30+ goal guy

I'm just curious as the moves they make, he seems like he is out the door. Maybe Zadina coming back doesn't work because of his cap hit as well.

I think he gets Killorns spot next season. Killorn is gone as I knew Palat was this time last year. Honestly unless it's an OVERPAY he goes nowhere

Do they have the cap? It says 2.4M with 15 man roster. Also don't see them trading anyone with significant cap at all. Also have to sign Jeannot as well. Just seems like there is going to be a few players needed to be moved to make room for a full roster.

I don't see this for Tampa. Tampa doesn't care much about a mid to late 2nd, and with Colton likely going to be the full time 2LW next year, Zadina probably doesn't move the needle. Colton around 3-3.5 is more likely in Tampa. If Tampa was going to trade him, I'm guessing they'd be looking at either Kubalik or Rasmussen as the main piece. They would need a solid replacement for Colton that could play on the 2nd line(or at worst, move between the 2nd and 3rd lines), and I don't see Zadina as being that guy for them.

Fair, I was also under the impression they didn't have the cap space as I forgot about Seabrook.

I feel RyJo would be a nice fit and need with DET. Also, if Copp can be put on LW line 2 to expand his offensive side which would be a big help. Rolling Copp at 2C would be another mistake next year as he cannot produce at that spot. We need a 2C to score 50-60 pts with 20ish goals and I don't see Copp ever doing that unless he is moved to the Wing.

I agree, I think Copp would be good at 3C or 2LW. I don't see many other options other than just waiting for a drafted player to take that spot.
