You honestly think that Brannstrom+Forsberg and a 1st and 2nd get you both Hart and Konecny? Sorry to spoil your parade. But since when do either Brannstrom and Forsberg have much value? Both Hart and Konecny by themselves would bring back a 1st and players much better than Brannstrom and Forsberg.
This shows that you have no idea about Forsberg and Brannstrom. Not saying they have "great value" but you clearly underrate them
Forsberg has easily been Ottawa's best goalie in the last 6 years. He was 11th in GSAA last season, super close to Demko. He played close to Vezina candidate level. 0.917 SV% on a discombobulated defensive system is quite the feat. He was not as good this season but still was clearly better than Talbot. Ottawa's season slipped away when he got injured. If anything, I'd rather give up something like Joseph + 2nd than trade him
Brannstrom has been excellent. He's young, cheap and still has a lot of place to grow.
Among 231 D-men who played at least 300 ES minutes this season, Brannstrom is 51st in xGF/60 and 25th in xGA/60, on a team that struggled at ES, particularly defensively
And it's not like he had the benefit of playing with great players... he mostly played with Holden (then a bit of Zaitsev and Hamonic that is not fair here is I think Konecny has more value than DeBrincat
