Flames free up some cap space , get some young cheaper players into the lineup. Joseph is overpaid but still a decent bottom six player and effective on the pk
Toffoli slots into the 2nd line RW vacated by DeBrincat when he gets moved. Ottawa gets a goalie to platoon with Forsberg.

Calgary counters with Vladar and Tanev for Batherson or Vladar for Pinto. There'd be some interest in Boucher too.

Can’t see Ottawa moving either player you are asking for. They could offer a 2nd for Vladar perhaps, or Boucher with strings attached.

Boucher with strings attached. Sure as long it's Ottawa adds if he doesn't make the NHL roster this year (very unlikely) and meet modest performance targets. Calgary has Ruzicka, Dueher, Pelletier, Coronato and Zary who are all either already in the NHL or NHL ready now. There probably isn't room for all of them (I wish there was) and Boucher would be behind them.

I would bet against him making the roster this year , especially coming off of shoulder surgery. Stings attached would be other minor player transactions. The pro scouts covering the AHL would need to make their recommendations. I don’t watch Belleville or the Wranglers play. Catch the odd game highlights and read up but limited exposure.

Really Boucher isn't that good a prospect. Yeah he has good size and was a 10th OA pick but his stats over the last few years don't justify such a high draft pick. On top of that he's had injury problems for a few years now with the latest being season ending shoulder surgery last month. A 20 year old prospect being touted as a physical power forward already having major shoulder problems is a huge risk. It's no surprise he's often included in trades proposed by Sens fans lately.
