I don’t see Lowry leaving the Jets for a multitude of reasons. I’d love to have him though.

Winnipeg loves Lowry. He could be captain in a few months, but I don't see a situation where they say no to a first rounder for him. It is an overpay, but Winnipeg should be saying yes.

I feel like you could just sign someone for that spot instead of overpaying for Lowry

Sure, but the UFA pool is pretty shallow and I figured Staal would stay in Carolina and ROR would go back to STL. I honestly could care less about a 1st if it means getting the best available guy for the spot.

I don't either, it's why I overpaid. Is his dad still on the coaching staff? That might make this impossible.

Fair enough. I'm not against trading the 1st round pick at all - I just hope if they do it's for a big upgrade that they can't get anywhere else. I don't see Lowry as that.
