Wait... what??? How was it 11-1 OTT when I voted? I'm baffled. On guys/gals in charge alone, Detroit walks this. This might be the most genuinely surprising thing I've ever seen on CF.

I think in hindsight Ottawa misjudged where they were. They have high end talent but their maxed out cap wise and their prospect pool is fairly limited similar to the Canucks. Nucks have very good players at the top, a quite sucky prospect pool, poor depth. Ottawa is better in most of those categorys but they are still kinda mid overall. I think whatever there stint ends up being it's either shortlasted or years of in and out.

Detroit on the other hand did the smart thing imo. They pivoted, they realized they made a mistake and sold. I think their contention window is longer because of this. They have the option to continue bolstering a the prospect pool a little longer give time for some team like Tampa, Boston to fall off.
