Anaheim has no interest in paying Murray 8M in real money. You could drop the 2nd going back to Toronto and we'd still say no.

If I’m Verbeek I do this deal. Got loads of cap room next year, even more if Gibby is traded and gives us a chance to move between 32 & 36 spots up the draft. Why not! Murray won’t play, he can be benched all year or do us a job in the AHL

It's cool that Leafs fans now appreciate O'Reilly and seem to all want to keep him, but you guys are gonna need to get serious with these extension offers.

Probably closer to 4.5 i think over 3 years, but who knows maybe he wants to stay enough since this is his home he will take less.

Sorry but if ROR was willing to sign for 3 x 3 he'd still be in St Louis not Toronto. Good luck probably closer to 3-4 years @ $5,000,000 per.

What facts? There aren't any here. His next contract is your opinion, nothing factual about it.

"If so and so signed for that much they'd still be with their original team" is a lazy argument as you have no facts to back that up.

You'd think after 57 years you'd have learned that.

What no facts? O'Reilly obviously wanted to stay in STL, he said it repeatedly. And the Blues would have jumped at 3x3. It's rather simple, and such an extension offer from TOR Is just bad. It's an entirely reasonable argument.

Stating that if he were to sign a 3x3 it would be in St Louis is not a fact, it is an opinion. Saying that he would cost between 4.5-5M on a 3 year deal is not a fact, it's an opinion.

Okay, so he said he wanted to stay in St Louis and not get traded, that is a fact . But then they moved him, so what does that mean for the future? No one at this point knows, which means it's either speculation or opinion, no such facts exist as of right now.

Just for the record, I agree that 3x3 seems short, but again, it's an opinion seeing as he hasn't signed anything past this season.

Heh. Okay, man. I mean, you said no facts, and then said oh there's a fact. Now if you'll excuse me I must go perform an experiment by touching water to determine if it's wet. wink
