not even really commenting on the trade itself, I just went “Husso? he was good with st. louis, I wonder what kind of stats on what kind of contract he’s on with detroit” and almost spit out my water when I saw the answer

He was very good until the trade deadline when the entire team started to become very bad.

No thanks on Trade number 1 Bailey sucks.

No thanks on Trade number 2, DeSmith sucks.

Winnipeg and Ottawa pass on Trades number 3 and 4 and don't even bat an eyelash.

Hellebuyck maybe, not sure what his value would be as goalies are always all over the place. Also if he says he wants to play closer to home, which I believe he stated somewhere I was told at one point, then his value wouldn't be all that high to other teams.
Debrincat cost a first, second and third. Berggren is around that value of a first. Husso probably gets at least a second right now, if you look at his stats and say he's not good, then you didn't watch him play. He was a stud until after the deadline when the team folded in front of him. Then I added a second for next year just for good measure.
This trade addresses their need for a goalie and replaces Debrincat with a good young high skilled player.

Yes Bailey sucks that's why I have him in the AHL. I used acquiring him to obtain more draft capital. Kubalik is replaceable especially with acquiring Debrincat.
The second trade is just moving up in the draft to select the player I want in Barlow, hoping he's still on the board at #14. DeSmith is just a throw in but a .906 save percentage in 38 games on a non playoff team I wouldn't say it's bag for a back up. Very reasonable cap hit as well.
Hellebuyck maybe, if he isn't willing to negotiate an extension with teams since he might want to play closer to home, then not many teams are going to even look into him let alone pay more than this.
The Debrincat trade gives Ottawa a starting goalie and a high skilled replacement player for Debrincat. Added a second for extra value. Berggren is more valuable than the Islanders first in my opinion for the fact we know he is pretty much a sure thing plus they don't have to wait for him to develop.

Also for Husso, factor in he played most of our games. He was exhausted on top of the team getting worse from the deadline.

Majority of people here will just look at the stats and make their opinion on that without actually knowing anything about the player, team or hockey.
