Penguins decline. No use in prolonging time with a bad contract.

Anything to add that could get it done? I think you could get better use out of Krug than Granlund, at least for a year or two. I think he bounces back a bit in a healthy year.

Agreed, we could get better use out of him, but not enough to justify that cap hit. Krug without retention should be pretty much a no from the Pens entirely.

TB has no interest in the runt that is Perunovich. He has zero value to TB. TB smallest blueliners Nick Perbix 200lbs shortest Ian Cole 6'1"
Perunovich 5'9" 172lbs yeah easy F***NO

I previously saw people suggesting attaching Carter to it but that would need some tinkering for the Blues to make it work. Or maybe Leddy could do it instead of Krug?

You're underrating Perunovich. He could be a good get, granted I wouldn't move Colton for him

Leddy for Granlund, if we had no luck via trade elsewhere or in free agency on the back end, is probably the more likely of the two options that you’ve laid out. Neither are truly enticing tbh. The issue with Carter is that he won’t waive his NTC so that’s off the table.

TB doesn't use massively undersized defenseman point blank period smallest to play regularly since the Yzerman Brisebois regime was Anton Stralman at 5'11" 197 lbs. TB blueline averages 6'2.5" 218lbs

I do agree that Tampa may not prioritize a guy like Perunovich, but he is really good. They definitely should take a chance on the guy if the opportunity arises

I think I would actually prefer that because we wouldn't really have anyone to comfortably hold down PP1 if we got rid of both Krug and Perunovich. May need you to retain a mil though.

I feel like this is a pretty decent package in their current cap situation tbh. Seems like every TB ACGM is dumping Colton to make room. Kapanen at $1.6M could be a decent short-term fix.

Honestly, we’d probably be better off just buy him out before doing either of those trades man. If I had to pick between the two I guessssss it’d be Leddy, but you can keep both of them lol.

Fair. Honestly a pretty reasonable buyout by the looks of it.

I think people on this sight DRASTICALLY under value Colton the guy playing with 3/4th liners and 2nd pp scores at a per 60 pace of 1.14 goals couple of comparisons . Kapanen .75 goal Anthony Beauvillier .70 John Tavares 1.12 drastically under valued here. These are all over the last 2 seasons
Just about every ACGM had TB getting Schenn @ the TDL too but see where that went.

I don't disagree, I'm using him in the top-6 here myself. Just curious what your solution is because it seems like Colton isn't someone you can afford to extend. Kapanen at $1.6M seems like a decent option for you along with the rest of the package. Perunovich has a ton of offensive talent and could slot into your PP2 comfortably.

Is he going to replace Hedman or Sergachev on that pp? They rotate first and second pp time this year. Again he doesn't fit TB philosophy.
QO COLTON to a one year and pay him with next year's jump.

It's common that 3 DEF make up both PP units. You would need a talent like him considering how depleted you will be up front.

TB uses 2 the only time all year they used a 3rd Hedman was injured or Sergachev was suspended. Please show me one defenseman who played regularly for TB in the last decade under 5'11 (Stralman)190lbs (Stralman) it doesn't exist so going for a guy 5'9 172 isn't what they do square peg round hole. Raddysh was an AHL all star and played the pp there and some here when Hedman was hurt.

I feel like you're not aware of the adjustments your roster is about to take on. The cap has caught up to you finally. You're losing Killorn unless he takes an INSANE hometown discount. Colton appears to potentially be another cap casualty. Yet you keep preaching about how TB has built their roster in the past. You have next to zero picks. You don't get to dictate things like that anymore. You're taking budget guys that can contribute like I have offered. Like you still have to convince Hagel to extend with you who deserves a big contract extension.

As I said about Palat last year he gone. Colton gets the top six minutes he deserves and becomes a 30+ goal scorer the sign Colton Jeannot and fill the roster with 900 k or less contracts the caps going to jump about 6 mil the following year yes they do build how they build. He's not a TB defender and kapanen is a drastic drop from the proven playoff performer Ross Colton. Awful return for him.
TB doesn't use three defenseman for the pp so, in order for Perunovich to be of any value who on the pp is he replacing? Hedman Bhahahahahahaha. Sergachev? Again Bhahahahahahaha
