Trades
1.
NYR
  1. Kuznetsov, Evgeny
  2. 2024 3rd round pick (WSH)
Additional Details:
I've seen this swap proposed by Rangers fan. Considering the caps probably want to add another winger and may want to move Kuznetsov, this could be a great deal for the caps.
2.
WSH
MTL
  1. Mantha, Anthony
Additional Details:
If we weren't acquiring Panarin, I'd rather hold onto Mantha, but we can't afford both.

How does this even remotely make sense? Panarin is by far the better player. A top-5 LW in the league. Not to mention New York is the only city he wants to play in. Kuz is an aging and overpaid player whose off-ice character has been questioned. My opinion is it would take two 1sts from WSH to swap Kuz for Bread.

I guess you didn't even read the part of the post where I said this was literally being proposed by Rangers fans. Look at Panarin's production in the playoffs and his cap hit.

Yeah I saw that. It still doesn't make it a good idea or a fair value. Panarin had one poor series. He's still a top-5 LW, and Kuz is only a 2C on his best days.

Well, that sure is an ignorant statement. Kuznetsov is a PPG center half of the seasons he's played in his career. He is at WORST a good 2C.

LOL, but what is he now? He's aging and declining. A 2C at best, for maybe one more year. With Panarin you have a top LW for several years to come, and he's locked up whereas Kuz is about to expire.

The only teams that would want Panarin are small market teams that want to make the playoffs. No contending team is going to have interest in him.

Yeah a top LW who scored 2 points in 7 playoff games on the most stacked team in the league. So what is Panarin now? Kuznetsov is at worst a 2C no matter what metrics you're looking at. And realistically he is a 1C.

This is without even mentioning Panarin's monster cap hit.
