Doesn't Detroit already have their goalie of the future

I don’t think DK comes back but we’ll see. Either way he and Bergy collectively get more.

For the love of god not Lucic. Does nobody actually watch him play? My dead grandmother moves better than him. He’s a liability.

Love the Gudas signing. He probably can do better.

I think Bertuzzi leaves.

One of the better Swayman trades I have seen. But Wings have their future #1 in Cossa.

Not moving Frederic unless contract becomes a problem.

Zona not taking on salary even though that’s a lopsided deal in their favor.

You're trading JDB for a 4th line C? Ouch

What about a 3 way trade?

Boston gets the 2023 1st round pick (NYI)

Ottawa gets Swayman

Detroit gets Debrincat

Well, it's more like a young b6 f who is decent and a 2nd for the ability to sign Bertuzzi. I dont make the deal w/o Bertuzzi signing. Also - JD is a UFA. Probably due at least 6m, maybe more. I don't know if I like that.

I like that. Not sure Boston lets swayman go to Ottawa though.

Cossa still 3y from being stud. They have 8y of swayman and cossa for 7-10m. They could move one for pieces.

I would trade Hall, Coyle, and Ullmark before I traded JD to make cap space. But yes, he gets 7-8 x $5.5-$6 in his next deal.

46 would 100% be contingent on 37 as well. Both come back on heavily incentive laden deals. They wont reach because they both only play 45-55g. Krejci gets to 800pts and Bergy chasing 450g. No back to backs amd they just play a light schedule.

Lucic is esssentially the 13th F. They are all close. He takes.Foligno role as veteran prescence and policeman. He can still punch a dude in the face better than most. Don't see Tkachuck engaging with Ullmark if Lucic is on the ice. Again, 13th F. Give Greer, Merkoluv, Kuntar, torposki, Harrison, or beecher some run. I want him dressed against the rangers so trouba doesnt do what he did to meier to Pastrnak or Lysell.

Frederic - I like him. A lot actually. They sat him in the playoffs. He isn't essential. They need to reload a bit and his conract will start to be a proble. - what do you see as his ceiling?

Gudas - hope he'll take slighlty less for a chance and 5 other Czechs. They could also go a bit more.

I fear he might get more, OR just wants to go home to Edm. 5.5m sure, 7m, I can't. Gotta think he would want at least as much as Hall.

All 3 teams are in the same division. It didn't bother Yzerman when he traded Bertuzzi to Boston.

Mostly, but still only 20 and didn't do so hot in the AHL. Short sample, but goalies tend to develop mid 20's. College Goalies, maybe a little sooner. But 23-25.

Very valid. Brain fart about divisions. Bert for playoff run is different than a franchise goalie for 8y.

Swayman to Edmonton, it is tears of joy

Looch doesn’t punch anyone from the pressbox. Matty T plays same way Looch or no Looch. He’s not only past his prime he’s past being of any use. Let it go.

Meanwhile Freddy ceiling is 40-50 pt FW that can play all 3 positions that will punch people. Why he sat…don’t know…shouldn’t have. Monty did way to much tinkering.

He crushed the echl, wings are probably fine and won't give up a first for a goalie

Crushed is an overstatement. Michael Dipietro performed better and I don't think he's the answer. Cossa will be a stud at 23-25, but that's 3-5y away.

Probably. Ahl is not the NHL though.

Ottinger and Swayman two of the better young goalies. Both 23 until good and great at 24. Both college goalies too.

Frederic is not good at protection. He's fearless, but gets beat up, alot. I am glad he could one punch some dude who isn't a fighter, but they need some bulk. I certianly wouldn't pay lucic, but league min to be a vet and provide a little protection, isnt end of world. I dont get the hesitancy? So what if he is in press box 40 games. Really it's for comradery. They are all still very tight.

Nobody is afraid of trent frederic or Aj Greer. Again, 12th/13th F. Don't expect too much..really a cheap body.

Because he’s a liability on the ice. It’s a complete waste of roster spot.

Camaraderie? For who? The only ones with real ties to Looch are Marchy, 37, and 63. Pasta a little. And two 0f them may be gone. Nobody else cares. Foligno has more ties to this team. Id’d rather bring him back on the cheap. Great in the locker room, will drop them, as has some skill still left.

Looch and Reaves are probably the two most feared players in the league, teams still hit those teams stars and take cheap shots at them. You are way overemphasizing the value of it.

We have had teams that had nobody they would push back, it showed. We have multiple guys that will now. And that is all that is needed, the knowledge that retaliation will come. Is it scarier knowing it’s coming from someone like Reaves. Sure. But it’s not that big of deterrent. If it was Reaves would never have to fight.

I don't thinks spend a first on a goalie to be fair, but I get your point
