I know the Rangers will do anything in their power to match that, but how could they unless they move Goodrow (basically impossible).

Heavy price to pay, but that Defense is big, mobile and young.

They better pass on him which they will, Yzerman never even offered a contract. He's past his prime and players like that careers wind down earlier then other people. There is no need to bring back a guy whose always hurt and older. We need to move on and upgrade now, Bert is the past, time to look for a better future

Why are we signing K'Andre Miller to a 9.8M contract.
Better yet, why are we even offersheeting him?

Who gives a crap that he had 1 good round of playoffs. He has back issues, look at Ryan Callahan, same type of career, he became useless right around 29/30 most players who play that style die out earlier. He is the past and thankfully Yzerman understands it's time to move on from this player. He will be a dead useless contract by the time we are competitive and thankfully he won't be part of the wings future

Every single move in this acgm would ruin our cap and make us mediocre for years. Thankfully Yzerman understands how to build and not use this ridiculous recipe to get to the next level

Paying 10M for someone that'll be fighting for 2nd pairing minutes against Wallinder is absurd. Losing two 1sts for that defenseman is even more absurd.

Bertuzzi was great in playoffs, but he's gone. I'd love him back, but I definitely think the pathline has been set and I'd rather not deviate from it.
Lindstrom isn't even coming back to the NHL.

Anderson is alright but I imagine he'll only sign that type of contract with a contender.

Anderson is hurt for 75% of every season, we need a stable backup who can stay healthy and give husso a break. I wouldn't touch him or bertuzzi no matter what

You're not paying $10M for Miller, that would be insane. That's just offer sheet calculation. And to put Wallinder on the 2nd pair already is absurd. Miller is a REALLY good, young defenseman. Fantastic skater, great instincts. This'll never happen but he's a really good player.

Bertuzzi is a great player, through and through. End of story.

More than enough room cap wise with Fabbri, Perron, Kub, Chiarot and Andersson coming off the books in near years. Only guy who is due for a big raise is Mo.

I'd probably take it if I'm the Blues. I'm also very desperate to shake up this defense by any means possible.

Probably prefer to move Leddy or Krug but can't have everything I suppose...

Wallinder won't be on the 2nd pair next year; but what about in 2, 3?
Anyways, you're suggesting we waste two firsts+ on a defenseman that will undoubtedly be fighting for 2nd liner in few years.
Not arguing that Bertuzzi isn't a good player, but what done is done. He isn't coming back.
What about Mo? And also, just because we have capspace to spend doesn't mean we should just spend it to spend it.

Wallinder may never even be an NHL regular, we have no idea. Miller is one of the best young Dmen in the league.

Eventually, if we want this team to win anything, they are going to have to pay defensemen.
