Kings say no thanks. He doesn't fit into the top 9 so wouldn't have room for Garland unless he played on the fourth line which he gets paid too much money to play on any 4th line.

The Kings have holes to fill at #2 LhD and in goal, and only a limited amount of cap space with which to do it. Therefore, any transaction NOT involving one of those positions would have to be cap-neutral or cap-positive for Los Angeles, not one that would add more than $3.6 million in cap. And that would be true even if we DIDN'T have 10 forwards for our top 9 slots, as @Hckeydude123 accurately says.

If you trade Tyler Myers AFTER his $5 million signing bonus is paid in the summer, you won't have to retain on him and you won't have to give up more than a fourth to persuade someone to take him.
