Yeah, but of the three LD UFA options from Boston, Gryz is the wrong one to get for Drysdale.

Also don't think we're in a position to fill out the bottom 6 with UFAs.

If you wanted Reilly or Forbort instead you could probably get either for basically nothing if the Ducks take their full cap hit. Grzelyck is undoubtedly the best player of the three though.

He's the best player, but as a running mate for Drysdale, he's not the right player. Drysdale is still developing as a player, so we need a defensive defenseman, or at least a defenseman that is complimentary to offensive defensemen. From Boston, that's one of Reilly or Forbort.

We have plenty of bottom 6 players, too many in fact, which is why you bought out Silfverberg and benched McGinn to sign Barbashev, TVR, and Lucid.

We've still got plenty of talented kids to bring up and try out, I don't see a reason to buy out Silf only to sign TVR. Bedard probably goes back to the CHL for most of the season anyway, some AHL time, and his 9 game stint in the NHL.

Not enough for Grzelcyk and Bruins have other ways to move money.

Reilly is an offensive D, Grzelcyk is a two-way D (although better defensively) and Forbort is a defensive D but mostly because he lacks offense. His defensive game has been okay while playing in a top defensive system with a good partner against mostly bottom-6 competition. I know you've made a Forbort for Vaakanainen trade a few times but I really doubt Verbeek does it and I would not recommend pairing a young promising D like Drysdale with Forbort let alone on the second pair. Strong on the PK but a 5v5 liability.

In that case it might be worth bringing Kulikov back for another tour of duty. His analytics got a bit blown out last season trying to cover Klingberg and playing with Fowler on his off hand on the top pairing, but a lesser role and new defensive scheme might turn things around.
