Calgary can't afford this. They are currently over the cap with a 19 man roster

It's a deal if you take Chris Tanev instead of our 1st. Montreal doesn't have a big cap problem. Monahan's, Byron's and Drouin's cap hits are all off the books this summer leaving just Carey Price's 10 mil and he'll be on LTIR until his contract expires in 2027 after 3 more seasons anyhow. Montreal doesn't have any important free agents to resign next year either.

How about Cgy takes Dvorak and the 1st round pick as the "Futures" from last year's Monahan trade. Sounds fair to me...
