Yeah, defense is suspect. Vaakainen is likely done, Silf is a 3rd line player on a good day, Lesson is an AHL player, Lundestrom is terrible on the wing and one of our best faceoff guys.

Mayfield and Bertuzzi are great targets, but I would put Mayfield with Fowler and find a veteran complimentary LHD for Drysdale like an Orlov.

I think Henrique is worth holding onto until the TDL, and I wouldn't move Vatrano just to free up spots for Nestrenko and Leason.

What are you doing with Luneau if you are signing Mayfield. What might get a conversation started.

No need to trade Frankie Wheels for draft picks -- we have 5 in the top 65 and two more before that Dallas pick. He's fine for what we asked of him.

We need Adam Henrique more than we need Jokiharju even if the Buffalo GM and front office don't notice that they're thin at RhD.

We'd put Mayfield with Fowler and get a partner for Drysdale like Gavrikov, Graves or Orlov.

We'd give Mayfield 5 years and Terry and Zegras at least 7.


Luneau will just be reaching NHL-ready status in Mayfield's third season, so we will be patient with him.
