So I’m not sure this is the player that Vancouver actually wants to get rid of but I thought it was interesting, Montreal receives another high pick to add to a young core of up and coming players while also receiving the cap dump (again, not sure it was Garland) from Vancouver. Vancouver still gets to pick in the first round while also gaining Josh Anderson, a very unique power forward that many GM’s apparently like, alternatively I thought maybe Anderson could be replaced with a dman, potentially Harris or Matheson actually considering we do have a couple other LD that will be vying for positions in the next year or two, it would make more sense if it were Harris in that case. And then there’s Owen Beck, selected 33rd OA last draft and seen as a sure fire two way 3C with 2C upside to sweeten the pot for that high pick in a goood draft. Anyway, would like to see what specifically Vancouver fans think about this trade, I think you guys have one of the better cores in the league with Demko, Petterson, Hughes if you could just build around it. Also be interested in seeing what habs fans think.

The only cap dump in this trade is Anderson. Canucks keep the better, cheaper player and the better pick

Why would Vancouver ever want a 30 point player who makes 5.5M when they are desperate to shed cap space??? And for the next four years no less. Only way Van does this is Allvin and Ruthford have strokes at the exact same time.
So Vancouver gets a worse draft pick, a worse player and a worse cap hit and a player that is a B prospect at best.
