Description

NYI are in win now mode. Karlsson could very well be the last piece for NYI to lock a contending position.
Karlsson brings offence and playmaking to very good defensive team and Dobson is what Sharks need for their new wave since they are not competing for years to come. Horvat deal was indication, that Islanders are not taking a step back and are going for it. Healthy EK65 is going to be dominating this league until he retires, one of a kind player. Islanders fans are probably furious about giving up Dobson, but if they really want to go for Stanley Cup they need to take a risk now.

This is imo a win-win for both, and it makes Eastern Conference nervous as hell, because EK65 is back.

This is not a win-win for both, it is a brutal trade for the isles considering Karlsson will regress next season as Dobson enters his prime.

It’s insane that you’re trying to spin this as a win now move as if Dobson is some unreliable 19 YO defenseman . When was the last time a team traded a 23 YO 50 pt RD for a defenseman approaching his mid 30s?
