Description

I know, I know... I am trading away the future for a RHD and some rentals, the exact formula for ruining a rebuild. I would much prefer to sign Dumba or Mayfield in FA, but in the fairly likely scenario that they sign elsewhere, there are not any other suitable options in FA in my opinion. I would be very skeptical of this deal if I am Verbeek, but we get a Verbeek style RHD, which is an area of great need, and get Jamie a partner on short term so as to not block the incoming LHD we have. Also give our young forwards some talent to work with to help their growth. If we do not improve our D dramatically, and get the offense going a bit more, this year will be a dark mark on the young guys development. I would hate to lose Helleson and Lundy for sure, but I think Lundy has run out of real estate with the (assumed) addition of Adam Fantilli. I would feel shame seeing him relegated to the 4th line or the wing. Helleson's departure is only an option due to Luneau and Warren being a couple years behind. I'd love to get some thoughts on this, maybe how you would edit this trade, or why this would be a terrible idea lol. Full honesty, I struggled to find the correct value going both ways with such a massive cap dump, so definitely want to hear your thoughts

I think sending Fantillinor to the AHL to play a season with all the kids and getting a Calder is probably the best thing for them. Hopefully that jump starts the stalled guys down in San Diego who we also need to get going again.

The kids on the big team are just going to have to grin and bear it, well get them some support out back, bring in Bertuzzi to replace Henrique when he departs, but don't go crazy. Get Jamie a baby sitter to let him operate, it'll be a run and gun year, we will still give up a lot of goals, but we should be good enough to get out of our own zone more and let's the guys get into the O zone more.

In three years that center core is going to be great, but man the next season would be ROUGH. I highly doubt Verbeek would go that young down the middle.
