Description
Time to bring both Vancouver boys to Chicago (won’t happen and if we win lottery they’ll say it’s rigged again lol) and Korchinski could probably play but if it ain’t working out within 20 games he gotta go back to Seattle or Rockford right away so we don’t hurt his development but he seems pretty good to get in some next year. Need to hit cap but can’t be affording dumb overpayments long term. No veteran is Gonna wanna come here for 3-4 for years to waste there final years and than leave as we get good. Most likely short terms to help young players, move at deadline, than replace with new vets until younger players slowly mold into nhlers. Maybe some long terms could be good if they’re younger and not gonna hurt taking away spots of younger talent, but idk who would do that besides compher because he’s from Illinois. Deadline would probably wind up seeing us sell, AA, drouin, Johnson, Dickinson, mrazek, possibly tinordi if someone will have him, Blackwell and maybe this is a fetch but overpay zucker than cut his salary in half and find him a contender maybe squeeze a 2nd or a late first if a team will do that. Tbh though that 4th line is probably too strong but we need the cap it’s gonna be interesting too see how Davidson really does this in offseason.

Think Bunting will want more long term security. He deserves it tbh.

Khaira I think we can safely move on from.

Zucker is a good move IMO and Compher would be also but can't see him not being picked up by a contender.

Yea I just figured maybe khaira could be good little cap spot in bottom 6, and I agree for compher literally just being from Illinois and a bit of money I thought would convince him long term if he believes this team are contenders themselves within 3-5 years. Bunting definitely deserves more that’s my bad he probably won’t wanna play with us, maybe an overpay and tell him he can be moved to a playoff team within a year. Edit: also the way I have the lines no way bunting comes to Chicago without promising a good line to play on like with bedard and zucker. Not compher and raddysh

Yeah Compher definitely fits the bill in that regard. I struggle to see KD handing out anything more than a 2-3 year deal this off season tbh.

I agree, but in my opinion he’s very smart and he knows what is needed to be done for a rebuild. I have my trust in him

Based on Kyle's comments on the Score 670 yesterday, can't see the Hawks signing 6 UFA's or giving any of them deals longer than 2 or 3 years. And w/ Korchinski, if he plays more than 9 games he burns his slide year and his ELC kicks in immediately. And he can't go to the AHL. It's either Chicago or the WHL. He's not NHL ready yet. No need to rush him.

I’m aware after 9 games that happens but if he isn’t nhl ready he’s very close, definitely shouldn’t rush him though I agree but he’s pretty good already it wouldn’t be totally surprising he plays this year.

Ok. You mentioned 20 games and going back to Rockford in your description. That's the only reason I mentioned the 9 game thing. Korchinski has a very good offensive game already for sure. But his defensive play needs some improvement. He's not even the #1 LD for Seattle. Nolan Allen is. I'm cool w/ the 9 games. Any more would be a big mistake in my opinion.
