I would switch wahlstrom and engvall, Horvat needs someone to carry him in transition.

Boston declines. Have plenty of middle 6 centers, they need cap space for moving Hall.

The cost for Bailey was a 2nd last year, no way its the same this year. Voracek just got moved to Arizona at a higher cap hit (same term 1 year left) for a 6th round pick

Apples and Oranges my friend. Voracek is on LTIR and isn't going to play again. Insurance is covering 80% of his salary. Whoever takes Bailey is paying his full $3.5m salary. Not nearly as attractive. Maybe another team takes him for less than a 2nd, but Hawks won't. Gonna be way more teams looking to dump a contract than teams willing to take one. Hawks will just wait for the deal they like.

Arizona is most likely not putting Voracek on LTIR because they'll need to hit the cap floor

He wasnt on LTIR after AZ acquired him this season. Just regular IR, so his cap hit counts. Sorry, guess what I should have said is Voracek is LTIRetired. Same as Weber, Price, Little, Muzzin, Seabrook, etc. They all have career ending injuries. They simply haven't officially retired because if they do, they lose out on whatever dollars are still owed to them on their contracts. AZ has three of these guys - all on IR. $21m against the cap. Costing them about $4.2m in actual dollars - insurance pays the rest.

I'm sure the Hawks are fine not taking Bailey on. They'll have no problem hitting the cap floor with or without his $5m cap hit. Hawks got a 2nd from Canucks for taking Jason Dickinson. A 2nd and a 4th for taking Zaitsev. Both with similar cap hits to Bailey. That's kind of the benchmark in my opinion.
