Going into next year with Murray/Woll is a horrendous idea.

If the leafs did this next year doesn't matter. More about shedding salary and getting younger. I'd want Woll to get as many starts as possible, give murray a chance to bounce back and maybe trade him at retained money for playoff depth elsewhere

Not enough for Marner; must include a 1st. Don’t let people jam Wrights draft pedigree down your throat. Tanev isn’t a good enough player either Imo. This deal has been watered down to the point where it’s not worth doing imo.

Samsonov is by far the best goalie in your organisation, it makes a lot more sense to just bite the bullet, trade Murray to Chicago and go with Samsonov/Woll next year.

Change the second to a first for next year. Either way, doesn't impact the roster

I'm not willing to go all in on Samsonov if we're taking a step back. Sell high as an RFA to a team that would use him

So...you won't go all in on Samsonov...but you would rely on Murray?

I’d rather eat the year on Murray and pray he can stay healthy than have to likely pay to dump him anyways. And I want Woll in the NHL. So Sammy is the odd man out

I'm sorry but I completely disagree with this line of thinking.

A first would make it less appealing to Seattle. Frankly I don’t think Seattle is much of a fit for any if Toronto’s core four with how both teams are structured
